Good ambience and service.
For the lunch set, appetisers and starters looked and tasted good! My parents had the river prawn with green curry and fried rice, which was quite tasty.
The sweet and sour fried fish with jasmine rice, which I had, was lacklustre in comparison. I find the sauce for the sweet and sour fish very overpowering and spicy, but even when the fish was eaten without the sauce, it was uninspiring and not particularly fresh.
Dessert was otherwise average. I would recommend the river prawns but not the sweet and sour fish.
Had to email for reservations as the website didn't work. Reservations by email worked. Restaurant was busy on a Tuesday night. Service was excellent. Food was great - river prawns are a must. Desserts were outstanding. All other dishes were very good or better. Loved the dining room. Seating was comfortable. Prices were reasonable. I tried 10 dishes plus desserts and was very full when done. I'm older so the small print in the menu + semi-dark lighting made reading the complex menu challenging. I downloaded their menu as a PDF before, typed up all my selections, and the ordering process was fast and accurate and efficient. Recommended for high-end Thai dining in Bangkok. Dinner about $300 USD for 5 adults + 3 kids.
The food and service were impeccable. The atmosphere exuded classical elegance and serenity—especially since we arrived right when the restaurant opened on a quiet Sunday night.
Our dinner courses were predominantly seafood-based, featuring tangy and spicy flavors. The standout was undoubtedly the main dessert! To top it off, the staff surprised us with a delightful assortment of Thai desserts for my friend's birthday—a cute and considerate touch!
Having come across positive reviews, my family and I decided to dine at the restaurant on December 27 for dinner. The booking process, initiated through email, proceeded smoothly. The restaurant responded promptly within 24 hours and confirmed the reservation immediately. However, the initial positive impression did not persist throughout the entire experience.
Opting for the Honorary Set (2650B++/person), touted for blending traditional Thai cuisines with modern techniques and presentation, we found the overall set to be decent. It prominently featured various seafood elements, yet there was a notable absence of dishes delivering a wow factor, as the flavors were rather predictable. One unique item was the spicy sorbet, although its contribution to the course's overall value remained questionable. Additionally, it was apparent that the chef had a penchant for incorporating jelly, discernible in multiple dishes. For those adverse to jelly textures, consider this a heads-up.
Regarding the service, it fell considerably below average, especially when compared to other Michelin one-star establishments I've patronized. Initially, dish explanations were mainly provided upon request. There were instances when specific ingredient clarifications were sought, and the waitstaff struggled to provide satisfactory responses, indicating a lack of training and respect for the chefs. Moreover, throughout the meal, no waiter or waitress solicited feedback or expressed concern about our satisfaction with the set—a basic courtesy that surprised us.
In a final disconcerting incident, as travelers spending our last night there, we aimed to settle our bill with the cash on hand. However, 45 minutes before closing, while my sister was calculating the money, a waitress abruptly snatched it away. This act of rudeness, unprecedented in our dining experiences, caught all of us off guard.
We took the set menu option, however, perhaps would have been better to take a la carte so we couldve picked and chosen what we liked as the set menu had some dishes that were way too spicy. Great food though and beautiful presentation. I'd say the atmosphere could be better. It is drop dead quiet, not many customers and slow drinks service. The food was great though, therefore, I think there is potential for this place. It could do with a livelier ambience. Good luck to the team, there's room for improvement, but that's only my 2 cents!
Food was spectacular! Service was top notched! Even brought out a birthday surprise dessert. Highly deseving of their michelin star!
We had lunch here during the pandemic so there were not many customers and we felt like we had an entire restaurant for our own. We decided to go for a la carte menu so we can pick the dish that suit ourselves and what we truly wanted to try.
The service and atmosphere were exceptional. The staffs were really helpful and helped explaining us about the menu. As I’m a local, the taste is excellent and authentic. The local ingredients is fresh, the meat cooked just right and the food presentation was ok. It was a such a good experience to try this restaurant but all those good stuffs come with the price.
A Michelins star holding restaurant but overall just a fair experience.
The set dinner begins with a watermelon snack, served with some dried garlic. Sadly the seed of watermelon was not removed.
The appetiser plate was good but nothing exceptional. The chicken dish tasted like those served in fast food shop. The scallop was over cooked and itself has no connection with the soup at all.
Service wise people are kind hearted but everything was so rush. We were soon asked to pay the bill right after the dessert. ( at that time still 1 hour from the closing time). Staff also made much noise while tidying up/ setting up the table.
It’s an okay choice if you somehow visit nearby. Otherwise not worth a visit.
